"I still find each day too short for all the thoughts I want to think, all the walks I want to take, all the books I want to read, and all the friends I want to see."
"There's always going to be bad stuff out there. But here's the amazing thing -- light trumps darkness, every time. You stick a candle into the dark, but you can't stick the dark into the light."
We are celebrating Mothers Day by having brunch with the Hubby's fam and then dinner with mine. I will be making Strawberry Shortcake for my Mom with fresh ingredients from the Farmers Market. How are you spending your Mothers Day?
One of the things I'm coveting lately is classic mint julep cups. I really want one...or a set of four. I have seen mint julep cups used as vases in many well designed rooms. A vintage sterling silver julep cup is very expensive (think $350+ yikes!). But Pottery Barn just came out with a silver plated julep cup for $24! I love it monogrammed. I would like to find a home for you in our master bedroom with fresh flowers.
All this mint julep talk has gotten me so excited for the horse races. I can't believe I have never been to Preakness when I live so close! Maybe next year. I also just want an excuse to dress up in Lilly with a big floppy hat. I can't help myself. Happy Derby Day Everyone!
Here is a peak of what our living room in our new apartment looked like after our IKEA delivery. This was before the movers came with all of our existing furniture and boxes. The Hubby has had his work cut out for him. All we have left to put together are the eight dining room chairs! Hooray! Hopefully we will find some time for that this weekend.
